Horticulture LED solutions develops and sells LED lighting solutions intended for horticulture. They are part of Signify B.V. (formally Philips Lighting). They distinguish a number of segments/applications that all have their own special lighting requirements and due to the harsh environment the modules are used in a certain quality/robustness level is required and needs to be maintained.
As Field Quality Engineer I was responsible for investigating field returns to figure out the root cause and to investigate, propose and implement possible solutions/improvements to prevent reoccurrence.
My main activities were:
- Analyse field returns
- Root cause analysis using the 8D root cause analysis method
- Investigate and propose improvements
- Create pareto´s
My investigations and proposals have led to a number of improvements that have significantly reduced the failure rate of the newer generation top and inter lighting modules.
