They have a large portfolio with luminaires in various shapes and sizes. Although they already have a number of LED driver platforms, they are always looking for better and cheaper solutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As Senior Electronics Designer I was responsible for developing a new low-cost dimmable driver platform that is suitable for large number of their products.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This involved the following activities:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Two designs were made based on a linear and switched mode concept from Philips Research<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Created PCB\u00b4s together with a layout engineer, where my focus was mainly on EMC<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Compared both concepts with respect to cost and performance. The switched mode concept was chosen<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Made two improved designs based on the switch mode concept<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>EMC pre compliance testing to discover and solve potential EMC issues<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Documented the design and concept comparison<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Supported the product development<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I finished the concept scoping and predevelopment in time and transferred it to product development and together with my support the platform was successfully implemented in several luminaires.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Philips Lighting Home Luminaires develops and sells luminaires for the consumer market.
