Their focus was mainly on low cost, retrofit and dimmer\/ballast compatibility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For a project with as goal to create new building blocks for one of our product development departments and for creating IP there was a need for an energy measurement circuit and for a DALI (=Digital Addressable Lighting Interface) power supply circuit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As Electronics designer I was responsible for creating concepts for the energy measurement circuit and DALI power supply.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For this project I did the following tasks:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Analysed existing concepts<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Created new concepts<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Made prototypes of the most promising concepts<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Developed the algorithm for the energy measurement circuit together with a software engineer<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Documented new building blocks<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Submitted a patent request for one of the energy measurement circuit concepts<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Two of the concepts ended up in commercial products (one energy measurements circuit concepts and one DALI power supply concept) and one of the energy measurement circuit concepts is patented.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Philips Lighting, LED platform development was a department within Philips Lighting that did predevelopment of LED drivers and modules.
