These are expensive devices and clients have high expectations with respect to performance, quality and life time. The iXR (= Interventional X-ray) department work on x-ray devices intended to guide surgeons during an operation. In their systems they use a number of PC\u00b4s for controlling movement and for image processing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As Electrical Engineer I was responsible for the development of the required PC hardware for new and existing systems and for maintaining the quality of systems in the field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">My responsibilities and activities were:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Specify required hardware and share with our suppliers<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Monitor the design process at our suppliers<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Evaluate samples and adapt requirements where needed<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Release new PC systems\/hardware<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Monitor availability and life time of used hardware<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If required look for replacements<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Create test plan and preform tests together with a test engineer<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Prepare change request with supporting evidence\/documents in Agile<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Discuss and defend change requests in the change request control boards<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Implement and monitor changes<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I released two new PC systems in time and I successfully introduced an extra test at one of our suppliers to reduce the failure rate of that system in the field.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Philips Healthcare develop and sell medical devices intended for clinics and hospitals, like x-ray and MRI devices.
