They provide resources and services to other business units within Philips and to clients outside of Philips. The Electronic Products &amp; Systems department focuses on product development. Philips Consumer Electronics develop and sell products for the consumer market, like vacuum cleaners and shavers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As Electronics Designer I was responsible for investigating the required driver for a LED based IPL (=Intensive Pulsed Light) hair removal device. This was as preparation for an announced LED break through by one of their LED suppliers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">My activities were:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Investigate three energy sources (mains, energy stored in super caps and energy stored in batteries)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Create driver concepts to drive the LEDs with high energy pulses<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Document and share the outcome with the IPL development team<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">My investigation led to an overview of suitable energy sources and driver topologies that would give the development team a head start when the new LED technology becomes available.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Philips Innovation Services is an Engineering firm within Philips.
